Tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal treatment in order to increase its mechanical strength.
Tempering creates balanced internal stresses which cause the glass to crumble into small granular chunks when broken.
This type of process is done in order to meet a highly demanding mechanical use.
